I haven’t sold enough books this year to bother counting them, so I decided to return to education to guide my way. I have started on the Western Governors Master of Science in Marketing program, focusing on Digital Marketing to discover what being a lucrative author is all about.
I fear this will hurt my writing in the short run, but hopefully, it will open me up to writing full-time in the future rather than just when the time or inspiration is available to me. I have one last release coming up soon, and then I will step back from writing to sharpen my marketing skills.
Oh, I’ll still write when I can, but I’ll use most of my time to charge through the marketing program as quickly as possible to see what magic can happen on the other side.
Since I was a kid, I have wanted three things: cats, a house, and to be a writer for a living.
I’m the proud servant of two rescue cats, and at 47 years old, it’s time to get that house and writing career locked in. I wanted to teach my kids to dream big and follow that dream, but I have only shown them poverty, and I’m tired of being poor.
‘They’ keep telling me it’s easy. ‘They did it, so why can’t I?’
In 2025, I’m going to find out.
